STAK Tool & Physiotherapy Sessions

The STAK is a new clinically proven medical stretching device for home use which enables patients to perform effective daily stretching to regain their range of movement and function following knee replacement, major knee surgery or injury. It is light and easy to use, the STAK is supplied with an accompanying chair which works in harmony with the STAK tool to enable optimal, comfortable high intensity stretching. The STAK is both self-motivating and empowering giving patients the best possible outcomes.

The STAK enables you the patient to generate high-intensity stretches which will break down the scar tissue in your knee which is causing stiffness and pain.

Once the STAK has enabled you to break down the scar tissue new tissue will form and you will regain your range of movement. You will see improvements in the first few days and we recommend that the treatment continues over 8 weeks.

Virtual Patient Sessions with Dr Sara Aspinall and her Team

Dr. Sara Aspinall, Founder & Lead Physiotherapist at STAK, brings nearly two decades of experience in treating and researching knee arthrofibrosis. She is the UK’s foremost expert in arthrofibrosis following knee surgery, holding a PhD in knee stiffness (arthrofibrosis) from Loughborough University. What to Expect in Your First Virtual Physio Session:
In your initial session we will:

  • Discuss your goals and desired activities.

  • Measure your range of movement using our app.
  • Guide you through the STAK programme.
  • Show you how to track your progress.
  • Provide personalised techniques and adaptations to enhance your STAK regime.

Our virtual sessions are designed to be highly effective and convenient, allowing you to perform exercises in the comfort of your own home, with repeatable results. You’ll notice improvements from the very first session, and soon, family and friends will see the positive changes in you.

Follow-up Sessions

During your follow-up sessions, we will:

Monitor your progress and track your range of motion.
Address any issues that arise, working through them together.
Ensure correct exercise and stretching techniques.
Take a holistic approach to any secondary issues, such as back or calf pain, that may have developed due to prolonged knee stiffness.

The second session is crucial to ensure you’re performing exercises and stretches correctly. As your knee adapts to its new range of motion, Dr. Aspinall and her team will guide you to achieve the best possible outcome in the shortest time.

For severe cases, virtual sessions with Dr. Aspinall and her team are highly recommended to maximise the effectiveness of the STAK tool. While many users benefit significantly from the tool alone, virtual sessions offer additional support and personalised guidance.

Recognising the financial and logistical challenges of in-person physiotherapy—such as session costs averaging £75, transportation, and time off work—Dr. Aspinall offers virtual sessions that deliver evidence-based recovery strategies from the comfort of your home.

Drawing on her extensive expertise, Dr. Aspinall and her team deliver personalised, professional, and friendly treatment, ensuring you receive the highest level of care to help you regain your quality of life.
